How does Faux Spy detect AI-generated images?
Faux Spy sends the image URL to two AI-detection engines, Hive and Sightengine, and also checks the image for camera provenance (C2PA content credentials) and EXIF metadata. You get a confidence percentage, not a flat yes/no, so you can judge edge cases yourself.
How can I tell if a dating profile photo is AI-generated?

Does it work on Instagram and other social media?

Is it accurate?

What should I do if the result says "Inconclusive"?
Treat it as "not enough signal", not as "real". Inconclusive results are more likely on compressed thumbnails, images resaved many times, or unusual angles. Try scanning a larger version of the photo, and weigh the result alongside other warning signs.
What data does Faux Spy collect?
Very little. When you scan, the image URL is sent to our detection API. We don't store your images, track your browsing history, or collect personal information.
How do scans work? What happens when I run out?
Each image scan uses one scan. Free users get 3 per day, resetting every 24 hours with no signup. Secret Agent and Master Spy subscribers get 200 scans per month, refreshed on the billing date. Extra scan packs (50, 200 or 500) can be bought inside the extension and never expire.
